Switch Safari windows on a Mac without guessing.
Safari gives you Cmd-backtick and a Window menu. Both work until you have five windows called "Google Docs". Canopy shows you the page in each one, and which profile it belongs to.
Free through December 31 while the beta runs. No sign-in required. Launches January 1, 2027.

SafariWork
TerminalMinimizedA Safari window inside a CMS. In Canopy it appears as a card with the page title, the URL and a Work or Personal badge.
The built-in ways, and where each one breaks
1. ⌘ ` cycles Safari windows
With Safari in front, Cmd-backtick moves to the next window and Shift-Cmd-backtick moves back. It's quick with two or three windows. With more, you're cycling blind, because nothing tells you which window is next.
2. The Window menu
Safari's Window menu lists every open window by the title of its current tab. That helps until titles repeat, which for docs, dashboards and CMS pages is most of the time. It also leaves out nothing useful like the URL.
3. Merge All Windows
Window → Merge All Windows pulls every window into one as tabs. Great for tidying, but it destroys the arrangement you built on purpose, and you can't see two pages side by side afterwards.
4. Mission Control and App Exposé
Control-Down shows Safari's windows spread out. Thumbnails shrink as windows grow, minimized ones hide in a row at the bottom, and there's no way to search.
5. Canopy CMD
Hold ⌘ ` in Safari and instead of cycling, the grid opens. Every Safari window is a live snapshot labeled with its page title and URL, with a colored badge for the profile it belongs to. Type a word from the page or the address to filter. Release to switch. Minimized windows are there too.
Safari and Finder are free forever in Canopy. The free tier covers exactly these two apps, no purchase needed, so a Safari-heavy day costs nothing.
Profiles, tabs and windows
Hold ⌥ Tab anywhere on your Mac, or ⌘ ` inside Safari. Canopy opens a clearing: every window from the apps in its roster, shown as a real snapshot, grouped by app and labeled with the page title, the file name, or the folder. Keep tapping to move the highlight, or just start typing to filter. Release the key and that window comes forward.
Minimized windows are in the grid too, dimmed and marked, because a window you tucked away is still a window you might need. Adobe documents that live as tabs inside one app window each get their own card. Safari profiles show as colored badges so Work and Personal stay obvious.
Canopy switches windows, not tabs; Safari's own tab search (in the tab overview) covers tabs inside a window, and the two work well together: Canopy to reach the right window, Safari to reach the right tab within it.
What it costs
Canopy is a one-time purchase, not a subscription, and the app never stops working. At launch on January 1, 2027 it is $19.99 for one Mac or $29.99 for three, with a year of updates included and an optional renewal after that. There's a free tier that covers Safari and Finder forever. Until then the beta is free, and beta testers can lock in the founding price of $9.99 or $14.99 with lifetime updates. Every purchase plants a tree.
