Terms of Service
These terms are the agreement between you and KindridStudio ("we," "us") for the use of Canopy CMD ("the app"). By downloading, installing, or using Canopy, you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not use the app. Questions? hello@canopycmd.app.
1. Your license
When you buy Canopy CMD, we grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to install and use the app on the number of Macs your plan allows (one Mac for the Single plan, up to three for the Three-Mac plan). It is a one-time purchase: no subscription, and the version you buy is yours to keep. The free tier is available at no cost with a limited feature set.
2. What you may not do
- Share, resell, sublicense, or distribute your license key beyond your own permitted Macs
- Reverse-engineer, tamper with, or attempt to defeat the app's licensing or security
- Use Canopy to break the law or infringe anyone's rights
3. Payment and pricing
Payments are processed securely by Stripe. Prices are shown at checkout. Promotional or "founding" pricing applies only during the stated period. Applicable taxes may be added.
4. Refunds
We want you to be happy. If Canopy isn't right for you, email us within 14 days of purchase for a full refund. We also offer a free tier and a free trial so you can evaluate the app before paying. Refunds may be declined in cases of evident abuse (for example, refunding repeatedly).
5. License validation and revocation
Canopy checks your license when you unlock it and about once a day thereafter, to confirm it is valid and within your seat limit. We may deactivate (revoke) a license if a payment is refunded or charged back, or in cases of fraud or abuse of these terms. If a license is revoked, the app reverts to the free tier; your settings are preserved.
6. Beta software
If you use a pre-release or beta build, you understand it is provided as-is, may contain bugs, may change or stop working, and is not the final product. Beta access ends at launch.
7. Updates
We may release updates that add, change, or remove features. We aim to keep Canopy working across new macOS releases, but we do not guarantee any specific feature will remain forever.
8. Disclaimer of warranty
Canopy is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose. We do not warrant that the app will be uninterrupted or error-free.
9. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, KindridStudio will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of Canopy. Our total liability for any claim relating to the app will not exceed the amount you paid for it.
10. Termination
You may stop using Canopy at any time. We may suspend or end your license if you materially breach these terms. Sections that by their nature should survive (such as disclaimers and liability limits) will survive termination.
11. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Washington, United States, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Any disputes will be handled in the state or federal courts located in Washington, unless mandatory local consumer-protection law provides otherwise.
12. Changes
We may update these terms; the date above will change and the current version will always be posted here. Continued use after a change means you accept the updated terms.
